The internal workings of a shock absorber are probably a mystery to most people. But on a vehicle like a Mountain Bike, the performance of the suspension is hugely important to a potential buyer. This animation shows the assembly of all the component parts, and the flow of fluid inside the chambers of the sealed damping system.
This is a generic shock, designed, modelled and animated in Blender. The movement uses an audio file to drive the vibration movement in a realistic way.
